The procedure depends on the child’s birth, registration and status. PESEL is assigned automatically in qualifying cases; otherwise the legal representative applies to the competent municipal office with the child’s documents and a legal basis. Being a minor does not itself remove the need for identification. For a child with UKR status, check the current status and identity-confirmation requirements separately.
